In 2011 I learned that...

In 2011 I learned…

… to trust in the human condition regardless how bleak it may seem at times

… to bring down one's walls even if it leaves one entirely vulnerable to harm because it's the only way to really experience life and the hurt is a part of the Human Experience

… to understand that peoples actions and reactions is never personal, it's a reflection of themselves and them walking into our lives isn't an accident. One should keep their eyes peeled for the learning lesson to fulfill one's Dharma

… Karma is real but if it wasn't, then it would be a great way to keep the egocentrics in check

… we are all egocentric to a point

Logic is a beautiful thing. It keeps one alive and there's no argument that it's important to keep alive. However, if one seeks to go beyond "just living" then one needs to go with gut instinct over raw intellect

… In our quest for wisdom, we should care lest we lose our humanity along the way

… it's okay to be persuaded into seeing any other person's perspective as long as they possess, at the very least, two properly functioning brain cells. Unfortunately, this is a rare commodity.

… The more resistant we are to the oncoming chaos, the more we will be stuck in a constant struggle and are unable to move forward. One must embrace the chaos with open arms and once the self-destruction ensues, then self-development can follow. One can't get upset at the dying fields when he is constantly warring with the rain clouds

… It is our scars that make us so beautiful yet we go well out of our way to hide them. That is our tragedy

… It is not that whichever we believe in is wrong or right. It is the mere fact that we believe in something. That is the crux of sanity. It is that simple yet we dwell on complicating the equation

… You can kill the poet but never his rhyme

… The object of the poet is not to accurately describe an emotion brought about from an experience, but rather, the poem is an acknowledgement that words have rendered themselves useless and the attempt to write is merely an acknowledgement of that moment

… Dogma is the lowest form of damnation with the highest form of restrictions

… most of the masses don't think. The grand illusion is that they think that they are thinking and hence the thought to think never arises

… some look through a broken spyglass onto the horizon in search for gold

Even a doormat gets laid

… Sharing is scaring when it's done with the wrong crowd

… one should think randomly. Life's ahead

… Women get into relationships hoping to change the man. Men get into relationships hoping the woman doesn't change. Both realize how gravely mistaken they are

… A genius isn't hated because their claims are believed to be untrue. A genius is hated for exposing the truth that the world so desperately attempts to hide in order to live their delusions.

… Poets are people without homes that have decided to make one out of ink and paper

… Desperation is the mother of oh-so-many relationships

… blindness is very deliberate whether we want to see it that way or not

… And all along it was the monster in the details while the devil was in the closet

… nothing should be taken personally

… people who have rigid views on truths and falsities will have a difficult road to travel in life

… tragedies are funny we just haven't realized it at that very moment. Years later we do and look back and laugh. If we can see that in the now, we'd be labelled crazy but the road would be easier

… people will attempt to make sense of their reality even if it's by putting something hideous for an explanation

… tragedies are beautiful. People avoid them because they were instructed to

… to look for meaning is a great hobby to occupy one from finding out there possibly might be no meaning at all

... a person can admire certain people for having values and another group of people for being devoid of it

... sometimes all that one really needs is to give themselves permission.

... that even a broken clock is right twice a day
